Silly sheepy note cards (14 of 50). The image was carved on a 4.5" by 2.75" Speedball Speedy-Cut block. This was my first encounter with this substrate, and I do not care for it. While extremely easy to carve, the block is also very friable...making it nearly impossible to carve fine details. As I was cleaning my block, bits of my design fell apart. Disappointing. I stamped multiple images on old book pages, cut out the images, and mounted them on the kraft cardstock.

My stash of mini note cards was dwindling, so I spent an evening playing with cardstock and rubber stamps. These bifold note cards (3 of 50) measure in at 2.5" square or so. They're the perfect size for gift tags, swap notes, or even as care tags for handknitted items and other handmade goods!

Once a year, when I head west to visit my folks, I splurge on craft supplies (typical, when one is away from home, no?). This year, in addition to my usual haunts, I also checked out SCRAP, a store which sells all kinds of junk suited for crafts.
In addition to interesting bits of scrap materials, I also found some fabric at this place. Amazing!
And some squishy goodes from Yarn Garden. I was mostly interested in sock yarns (since I have high hopes of knitting socks in 2011), but a skein of baby alpaca somehow made it into my basket (sis selected it for a specific project which I need to get started on)!
And fabric from Craft Warehouse and Fabric Depot. Lots of yummy fabrics were fondled at these places...but I only brought home, ahem, a few that I absolutely had to have.
And of course, some books for inspiration from Kinokuniya and JoAnn's. I've been searching for that house patchwork book for ages, and I was really pleased to find a copy of it! And since learning to draw is one of my goals for 2011, voila, I found a book to help me out with that goal. The sewing calendar, I'm not too keen on *sigh* The projects in it (yes, I already looked at all the projects) aren't all that exciting. Bummer.
And these two sets of clear stamps that I picked up while waiting to pay for my purchases...
Yep, it's safe to say that I should be good to craft in 2011!

Stopped by my favourite rubber stamp shop this morning to sign up for a card making class and also because they were having their 2nd annual garage sale! I wasn't really looking for anything in particular, but the following items caught my eye...
Four mini frame stamps to use with my inchies!
Fluffy sheep stamp for making yarn/fiber tags!
Matchbox sewing kit stamp for, erm, making sewing kits!
Mice galore (hate the real life rodents but these were too darn cute!)
Winnie the Pooh stamp because I <3 the bear...

I'm taking a break from fiber and fabric! While sorting through my stash of rubber stamps to decide what needs to go and what gets to stay, I ended up raiding my paper stash to make some note cards.

A trip out West inevitably translates to a shopping spree of sorts. I figured I might as well stock up on things that aren't readily available at home.
Who can resist Japanese craft p*rn?!?
Yeah! My favourite craft magazines!
Something to help me beef up my knowledge about bookbinding!
I've pretty much limited my stamp purchases to cling stamps because they don't take up as much storage room as regular stamps. At least that's what I keep tellin' myself.
Adding to my collection of fabric inks and inks for altered art!
OMG yarn of 80% baby alpaca/20% bamboo in a neutral mustard shade. The moment I picked up this yarn, I couldn't stop, erm, fondling it. I also picked up some bamboo needles because I thought I might want to knit while I was on vacation....but that didn't happen.
Gobs of trim and a new ruler!!!
And then, there was fabric *sigh* Lots of fabric *embarrassed*
A canvas panel and waffle weave fabric
Fat quarters
1/2 yard cuts
1 yard cuts
2 yard cuts
2.5 yard cuts
5 yard cuts
I have some plans for the larger cuts of fabric (a kimono? some totes? pj pants? sarongs?) but the smaller cuts are "just because they're purdy" buys. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out how much fabric I purchased, but I think I'd rather not know!
